The statistical highlights of the third day's play in the fourth and final cricket Test between India and Australia in Adelaide on Saturday.
# Ricky Ponting [Images] (79 not out off 150 balls) posted his highest score of the series. Ponting's 40th Test fifty is his sixth against India.
# As captain, Ponting has registered 19 fifties, apart from 13 centuries, in Tests.
# Matthew Hayden [Images] recorded his 30th Test hundred -- sixth against India.
# Hayden also bettered the feats of Jacques Kallis [Images] (South Africa) and Sir Donald Bradman (Australia) - 29 centuries each. He has now moved to the sixth place after Sachin Tendulkar [Images] (39), Sunil Gavaskar [Images] (34), Brian Lara [Images] (34), Ricky Ponting (33) and Steve Waugh (32) in the list of leading centurions.
# When his score reached 42, Hayden also completed his 5000 runs at home - 5061 at an average of 62.48. He is the fourth Australian, after Ponting, Allan Border [Images] and Steve Waugh and the ninth batsman overall to have amassed 5,000 runs at home.
# Hayden has also extended his record for most centuries at home to 21.
# Hayden registered his third hundred in successive Tests in the present series -- 124 at Melbourne, 123 at Sydney and 103 at Adelaide.
# Hayden is now the first Australian to amass 400 runs in the series -- 410 at an average of 82.00 in five innings.
# Hayden set another record. He became the most successful batsman for Australia against India -- 1654 runs at an average of 66.16, including six centuries and six fifties, obliterating Border's aggregate of 1567 runs at an average of 52.23 in 20 Tests.
# Hayden is now the third Australian player after Bradman (4 in five Tests in 1947-48) and David Boon (3 in five Tests in 1991-92) to post three or more hundreds in a Test series against India.
# Hayden has registered 3 or more centuries in successive Tests on three occasions.
# Phil Jaques posted his third fifty of the series.
# The 159-run partnership between Hayden and Jaques is Australia's best for the first wicket against India at Adelaide, surpassing the 99 between Bobby Simpson and Bill Lawry in 1967-68.
# The stand is Australia's third best for the first wicket against India, next only to the 217 between David Boon and Geoff Marsh at Sydney in 1985-86 and 191 between Bobby Simpson and Bill Lawry at Melbourne in 1967-68.
