David Hussey on stand-by for Clarke February 16, 2008 15:33 IST David Hussey may get a chance to make his one-day debut against India after he was added to the Australian cricket team as cover for Michael Clarke [Images], who is recovering from a rib injury. Clarke bruised his ribs during Australia's win over Sri Lanka in a tri-series match on Friday in Perth. "David Hussey has been added to the Australian squad as a stand-by player for tomorrow's Commonwealth Bank Series one-day international match against India at the Adelaide Oval," National Selection Panel Chairman Andrew Hilditch said in a statement. "Hussey has been placed on stand-by after Michael Clarke suffered bruised ribs during yesterday's Commonwealth Bank Series match against Sri Lanka [Images] at the WACA. He will join the Australian squad in Adelaide tomorrow morning," he added. Hussey's international experience is limited to a Twenty20 match against India on February 1, in which he did not get a chance to bat and his only contribution in the game was taking a catch of Robin Uthappa. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
