Chennai Superstars remained the champion side in the Indian Cricket League as they won the 50-over-a-side final of the competition here at the Mayajaal ground.

They had also won the International 20-20 tournament in Panchkula last December.

Chennai Superstars brought about a nail-baiting finish to the 15-day eight-team round robin tournament as they beat Delhi Jets by one wicket with just four balls to spare.

Batting first, the Jets were all out for 240 in 48.3 overs but Chennai Superstars batsmen V Devendran (43) and Hemang Badani (59) laid the foundation for Thiru Kumaran (38 not out) to guide his side through in the last over with Superstars making 242 for nine.

The hosts' captain Tamil Kumaran was adjudged man of the final for his effort of five for 39.

Earlier, M D Mishra (64, six fours and a six), Abhinav Bali (33, four fours), S Abbas Ali (45) and captain J P Yadav (42) batted well for Delhi.

Yadav was adjudged player of the tournament for scoring 387 runs (eight matches) and claiming eight wickets and five catches.
