Australia elect to bat against Sri Lanka

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in their tri-series one-day international against Sri Lanka [Images] at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.

Sri Lanka retained the same side that played in Tuesday's washed out match against India in Brisbane while Australia made two changes to the side that also played an abandoned game against the Indians at the Gabba.

Opening batsmen Matthew Hayden [Images] returns to the lineup for Brad Haddin while spinner Brad Hogg [Images] replaces Ashley Noffke.

Australia: Ricky Ponting [Images] (captain), Adam Gilchrist [Images], Matthew Hayden, Michael Clarke [Images], Mike Hussey, Andrew Symonds [Images], James Hopes, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee [Images], Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Bracken [Images].

Sri Lanka: Mahela Jayawardene [Images] (captain), Upul Tharanga, Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara, Chamara Silva, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Chamara Kapugedera, Chaminda Vaas [Images], Lasith Malinga [Images], Muttiah Muralitharan, Ishara Amerasinghe.
