Fine knocks by Kiran Powar and Dheeraj Jadhav helped Mumbai Champs coast to a 54-run victory over Kolkata Tigers in the ICL-50s played at Mayajaal Sports Village in Chennai on Sunday.

Openers Robin Morris and Jadhav provided a great start, forging a 67-run partnership in 11.4 overs with Morris contributing a quickfire 33.

Continuing with his good form, Jadhav struck a fine 73- ball 59 that included four boundaries.

After the fall of two quick wickets, Champs captain Powar forged a 96-run partnership with Nikhil Mandale to take the score past 145.

Powar played a captain's knock, scoring a belligerent 57-ball 60 that included two sixes and four boundaries.

Once Powar got out, the Champs lost wickets at regular intervals.

The star bowlers for Kolkata Tigers were Abhishek Jhunjhunwala 3/42 and Eklak Ahmid 2/34.

In their reply, the Kolkata batsmen failed to deliver and were bowled out for 203 in 40.4 overs.

At one stage, the Tigers were reeling at 95 for 4.

Shridhar Iyer and Shreyas Khanolkar of Mumbai Champs picked wickets at regular intervals.
