Kaif to lead Rest of India in Irani Trophy match

Mohammed Kaif will lead Rest of India against Ranji champions Mumbai in the five-day Irani Trophy match, at Rajkot, from October 6.

Rest of India comprises mostly players from the India 'A' team, which beat South Africa 'A' in an unofficial home 'Test' series 1-0 recently.

However, Delhi pacer Pankaj Singh, part of the India 'A' team, has been replaced by Bengal quickie Ranadeb Bose.

Amol Muzumdar will lead Mumbai, which will be without the services of Sachin Tendulkar [Images], who is in the team for the seven-match ODI series against Australia.

Rest of India: Mohammad Kaif (captain), Ishant Sharma, Parthiv Patel (vice-captain), Munaf Patel [Images], Akash Chopra, Pragyan Ojha, Cheteshwar Pujara, Amit Mishra, Manoj Tiwari, Yo Mahesh, S Badrinath, Ranadeb Bose, Suresh Raina, Arjun Yadav.

Mumbai: Amol Muzumdar (captain), Vikrant Yellgatti, Wasim Jaffar, Iqbal Abdulla, Sahil Kukreja, Rajesh Verma, Ajinkya Rahane, Dhaval Kulkarni, Rohit Sharma, Avishkar Salvi, Prashant Naik, Omkar Gurav, Hiken Shah, Abhishek Nair, Ajit Agarkar [Images].
