Start of second ODI delayed

Harish Kotian in Kochi | October 02, 2007 09:10 IST

The start of the second One-Day International between India and Australia, at the Nehru stadium in Kochi, on Tuesday, has been delayed because of a wet outfield.

The umpires will inspect the pitch at 0900 IST before making a decision on the start.

The outfield was completely damp on Monday after a spell of heavy rain in the morning, but the ground staff worked tirelessly and have done a good job to get it ready for play.

Both teams went through the warm-ups in the morning, in sharp contrast to Monday, when they were forced to cancel practice because of the wet outfield.
