UP skipper Mohammed Kaif scored an impressive 71 on the fourth and final day to manage a draw with Punjab in their Ranji Super League Group 'B' match in Mohali on Monday.

Resuming at overnight score of 238 for seven, the hosts Punjab declared their innings at 351 for nine to set a challenging target of 358 for the visitors but Kaif propelled the team to 230 for loss of five wickets. Kaif was removed by Charanjit Singh, who also claimed the wicket of another in-form batsman Suresh Raina (5).

M Gony took two wickets for Punjab in the second innings while VRV Singh, who took seven in the first innings, managed to bag just one this time. 

Earlier, Ravneet Ricky struck an unbeaten 111 for Punjab after resuming at his overnight score of 76. Batting down the order, Ricky got a good support from debutant Charanjit Singh, who contributed 64. UP's Piyush Chawla had a tally of four wickets.

Punjab got three points while UP got one point from the match.
