Hyderabad opener Ravi Teja [Images] scored a maiden century but Punjab forced a draw on the fourth and final day of the Ranji Trophy Super League match at PCA Stadium in Mohali on Sunday.

Hyderabad scored 379 and 276 while Punjab, who scored 356 in the first innings, made 75 for 4 in 28 overs in the second round match.

Resuming at an overnight total of 85 for 2, Hyderabad were bowled out for 276, Sarabjit Lodda claiming four wickets and Manpreet Gony and Birinder Singh bagging two each.

Hyderabad's top order batsman Arjun Yadav added just four runs to his overnight total before falling for 14, caught by Punjab skipper Pankaj Dharmani in the slips off Manpreet's bowling.

Teja, who resumed his innings on Sunday at 61, batted patiently and his knock of 111 was studded with 14 hits to the fence.

Amol Shinde also hit a patient 48, but Hyderabad skipper VVS Laxman, who came down the order, scored just 26 before being caught by S Lodda off the bowling of Manpreet Gony.

Laxman, who had some back discomfort, did come on to the field earlier and played down the order today.

Chasing the massive target, Punjab lost four wickets quickly with score reading just 63. Uday Kaul (18) and Ankur Kakkar (9) were at the crease when the match was declared a draw.

Hyderabad got three points while Punjab earned a point.

Hyderabad VVS Laxman praised his young team for playing well, saying many among them had just started their first class careers.

"The batting was good and getting 379 in the first innings was a good total. The boys showed lot of character," he said.

He said Punjab missed the services of their key bowlers VRV Singh and Gagandeep, who he felt could have made the difference.

With both Hyderabad and Punjab losing some key players to the rebel Indian Cricket League, Dharmani was also all praise for his side but said they will work on the shortcomings.
