Punjab draw with Andhra Pradesh

Punjab got three points following their first innings lead of 38 runs and Andhra Pradesh earned a point in their drawn Ranji Trophy Super League Group B cricket match on the fourth day in Amritsar [Images] on Tuesday.

Hosts Punjab declared at the over night score of 372 for nine in response visitors first innings total of 334. The first innings lead earned the hosts three points and the visitors got one point from the drawn match.

In the second innings, Andhra Pradesh were 287 without losing a wicket. Opener Hemal Watekar, who scored 100 with the help of 10 fours and one six, retired hurt after he was injured in the nose. During treatment the doctors had to give him three stitches just below his nose.

Prasad Reddy, 114 with the help of 11 hits to the rope and one six and Satya [Images] K Verma, 58 with the help of two fours and two sixes were the other key scorers as the Punjab batsmen failed to get visitors wicket during the 85 over spell of five hosts bowlers.
