Pakistan choose to bat in first ODI

Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik [Images] won the toss and chose to bat in the first one-day international against India on Monday.

Pakistan recalled left-handed opener Salman Butt [Images] in place of Imran Nazir [Images].

India picked in-form Gautam Gambhir [Images] ahead of the experienced Virender Sehwag [Images], who was recalled to the squad.

The five-match series will be followed by three tests in the fourth bilateral series between the arch-rivals since 2004.


India: Mahendra Dhoni [Images] (captain), Sachin Tendulkar [Images], Saurav Ganguly [Images], Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh [Images], Robin Uthappa, Irfan Pathan [Images], Harbhajan Singh [Images], Murali Kartik, Rudra Pratap Singh, Zaheer Khan [Images].
