The Board of Control for Cricket in India have decided to call back S Sreesanth after the Kerala paceman was ruled out of the Test series against Bangladesh with a calf-injury.

RP Singh will now stay back in Bangladesh in place of Sreesanth for the Test series, which begins in Chittagong on Friday.

"Following his fitness test today there are some areas of his (Sreesanth's) recovery that are still not complete," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said in a statement.

"Despite the best efforts at treatment of his injury he will not be 100% fit for the start of the 1st Test match vs Bangladesh on the 18th May, 2007 and he will continue to require treatment for this soft tissue injury for another 7 days as per the report of (physio) John Gloster."

Sreesanth had sustained the calf-injury during the first ODI in Dhaka, which India won by five wickets.
