The West Indies [Images] named Daren Ganga captain on Tuesday, in place of the injured Ramnaresh Sarwan, for the remaining Tests against England [Images].

Sarwan was ruled out of the rest of the tour last week after suffering a shoulder injury while falling awkwardly trying to prevent a boundary on the first day of the second Test.

Ganga, who steps up from vice-captain, will take charge for the remaining two Tests at Old Trafford and Durham.

West Indies spokesman Imran Khan said a decision on the captaincy for the one-day series and Twenty 20 matches would be made at a later date.

England lead the four-Test series 1-0. The third Test, at Old Trafford, starts on Thursday.
