Fifteen more Bangladesh Cricket Board officials resigned on Wednesday as the interim government's plans to depoliticise the authority gathered steam.

The restructuring process led to the resignation of vice president Gazi Golam Dastagir last week and general secretary Mahbub Anam on Tuesday.

"I have accepted resignation letters from 17 officials so far," BCB president M Abdul Aziz told Reuters on Wednesday.

Most of the officials were linked to major political parties, so they had to resign, Aziz added without giving further details.

"We have resigned to help government efforts to reorganise the BCB." Mahbub Anam told reporters in a news briefing late on Tuesday.

Aziz said he had advised the relevant authorities to fill the vacant posts for the 31-member board as soon as possible.
