India win toss, bat first

India won the toss and elected to bat against South Africa in the third and final Test at Newlands, Cape Town, on Tuesday.

India rung in two changes, Munaf Patel and Dinesh Kaarthick coming in place of VRV Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni respectively.

South Africa effected three changes, Paul Harris, Jacques Kallis and Dale Steyn coming in for Andrew Hall, Morne Morkel and Andre Nel.

The series is level 1-1 after the first two games.

Teams:

India: Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid (capt), Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Dinesh Kaarthick, Anil Kumble, Munaf Patel, S Sreesanth and Zaheer Khan.

South Africa: Graeme Smith (capt), AB de Villiers, Jacques Kallis, Herschelle Gibbs, Ashwell Prince, Hashim Amla, Mark Boucher, Shaun Pollock, Paul Harris, Dale Steyn and Makhaya Ntini.

Umpires: Daryl Harper (Aus) and Asad Rauf (Pak)

Third umpire: Marais Earsmus (RSA)

Match referee: Roshan Mahanama (Sri Lanka).
