Sri Lanka have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during its five-run win over India in the second one-dayer at Rajkot on Sunday.

ICC match referee Alan Hurst of the Emirates Elite Panel imposed the fines after Mahela Jayawardene's side was ruled to be two overs short of its target at the scheduled finish of India's innings when time allowances were taken into consideration, an ICC statement said on Monday.

In accordance with the ICC Code of Conduct regulations governing over-rate penalties, players are fined five per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.

"Jayawardene has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee while his players have each received 10 per cent fines," the statement added.

The punishment is a Level 1 offence under the ICC Code of Conduct.
