After his sparkling innings in the fourth ODI against the West Indies in Baroda, Sachin Tendulkar brought alive the Ranji Trophy final as he slammed another century for Mumbai against Bengal at the Wankhede stadium on Friday.

Interestingly, Tendulkar brought up his 60th first class hundred by scoring a single off Sourav Ganguly. Of the 105 runs he scored in 129 balls, 76 came in boundaries (19x4).

The master batsman, who had missed out on playing for Mumbai earlier this season, came to the crease in the seventh over itself with the hosts down 14 for two. After beginning tentatively, Tendulkar settled into the groove and dug the 36-time Ranji champions out of a hole with a 187-run stand with India opener Wasim Jaffer.

Bengal paceman Sourasish Lahiri had Tendulkar caught at mid-wicket by Laxmi Ratan Shukla while attempting a slog-sweep.

After 54 overs, Mumbai were well-placed on 202 for three with captain Amol Muzumdar yet to open his account and Jaffer unbeaten on 79.
