Sharad Pawar inaugurates indoor cricket facility

A state-of-the-art indoor cricket facility was inaugurated on Friday at Bandra-Kurla Complex at Mumbai Cricket Association Indoor Cricket Academy by Board of Control for Cricket in India and MCA President Sharad Pawar [Images].

Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh presided over the function which was also attended by Shiv Sena MP Manohar Joshi and PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal.

The facility, which can have controlled temperature ranging from 14 degree centigrade to 40 degree centigrade, has seven indoor nets.

Champion batsman Sachin Tendulkar [Images], selection committee Chairman Dilip Vegsarkar who is also the Vice President of MCA, Committee members and BCCI office bearers were also present at the function.

MCA treasurer Ratnakar Shetty remembered the yeoman service rendered in developing the ground by former Indian captain late Polly Umrigar.

Son of former Indian fast bowler Mohammad Nissar, who later migrated to Pakistan, Waqar Nissar was also present.
