Karnataka struggle against Saurashtra December 10, 2007 22:00 IST Last Updated: December 10, 2007 22:31 IST Saurashtra's Sandeep Jobanputra grabbed six wickets to leave Karnataka tottering at 216 for nine in the first innings on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group "A" Super League tie in Mysore on Monday. But for a patient unbeaten century by opener KB Pawan (110) the hosts, who are still adrift by 29 runs against Saurashtra's first innings of 245, would have been in a pathetic condition. Pawan's maiden century was studded with nine fours and a six. Karnataka lost its opener Robin Uthappa (5) when the side's total was seven and the slide began with the hosts batsmen returning to the pavilion unable to face Jobanputra who claimed six wickets conceding 69 runs. Pawan was assisted by Skipper Yere Gowda who contributed a valuable 33 and Tilak Naidu 30. Rakesh Dhruv scalped two wickets. Earlier Saurashtra, resuming their innings at 229 for eight, added 16 more runs.
