With rain playing spoilsport,Tamil Nadu's chances of scoring an outright win received a setback as only 116 minutes of play was possible and Saurashtra's first innings is yet to be completed in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' match in progress in Chennai.

At close on the penultimate day of their four-day tie, Saurashtra added 92 more runs in 28 overs to be 120 for 5 in 41 overs with Captain Jaydev (11) and Ravindra Jadeja (2) at the crease.

The full session of play of 150 minutes was lost due to soggy conditions of the outfield following overnight rains and again rain interrupted play.

Resuming at 28 for 3, Saurashtra lost its overnight not outs, Cheteshwar Pujara and Pratik Mehta.

Pujara, who had been their mainstay having made three centuries this season, was caught by lone slip, Badrinath off spinner Ramkumar for 62 (9 fours) while Mehta snicked to wicket-keeper Gopinath off Ramkumar when he was 21 (1 four).

Among the Tamil Nadu bowlers, Ramkumar has claimed 3 for 22 off 14 overs of which four were maidens and medium pacers, Yeo Mahesh and P.Amarnath took a wicket each.

With the weather forecast predicting more rains on the morrow, the teams are likely to share two points, if the match ends in a draw.

Saurashtra has nine points from three matches, while Tamil Nadu has four from as many ties.
