Sri Lanka [Images] pace bowler Lasith Malinga [Images] has signed a short-term agreement with English county side Kent.

The 23-year-old is flying to England [Images] on Thursday to join-up with Kent as a replacement for South African all-rounder Andrew Hall [Images].

Malinga has been contracted until Aug 27 and is set to play in this weekend's Twenty20 final's day at Edgbaston.

"I am thrilled to be given a chance to play county cricket with Kent and hope that I can both improve my game and contribute to the team's success," Malinga told Reuters.
