Sri Lanka 'A' romp to 195-run win October 30, 2006 18:20 IST Sri Lanka 'A' crushed West Zone by 195 runs on the last day of the Duleep Trophy game at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack on Monday. Chasing a target of 466, West Zone was bowled out for 271 in 80.1 overs, after resuming the fourth day on 125 for 2. Wasim Jaffer, selected for the national team for one-day series in South Africa, slammed a hundred but could not help West last the final day. He was well-supported by Amol Muzumdar (61) as the team fared a lot better in the second innings than the 149 all out in the first. After Jaffer and Muzumdar's 131-run stand for the third wicket was broken, West Zone collapsed like a pack of cards, with only Parthiv Patel managing to get into double figures (29). For Sri Lanka 'A', spinner Upul Chandana, with loads of international experience, was the most destructive bowler, running through the middle order while claiming five wickets for 65 runs.
