Speedster S Sreesanth has been ruled out of the Rest of India squad for the Irani Trophy match due to an injury in his right toe.

Laxmipathi Balaji has been named as replacement for the Kerala seamer for the Irani Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh,  BCCI seceretary Niranjan Shah said.

Shah said the Indian team's physiotherapist John Gloster examined the toe and has advised eight days of rest.

The four-day Irani Trophy, is scheduled from October 9.
