Leg-spinning wizard Shane Warne's [Images] six-wicket haul in the second innings of the Durban Test has lifted him one notch to second spot in the latest LG ICC [Images] Test bowling rankings.

Warne, whose mesmerising spell on the final day led the South Africans to a series defeat, upstaged fellow Australian Glenn McGrath, who gave the tour a miss to be with his ailing wife.

Test cricket's highest wicket-taker is one place below Sri Lankan tweaker Muttiah Muralitharan who continues to lead the rankings.

Skipper Ricky Ponting's [Images] twin hundreds in Australia's 112-run win has not only ensured he remains top of the batting charts but has also given him one of the highest ratings of all-time.

Ponting finished the Test with 937 rating points and that mark has been bettered by only seven players in the history of the game.

Despite Matthew Hayden's [Images] 102 at Kingsmead, Ponting has moved 60 rating points clear of his teammate at the top of the rankings. Brian Lara [Images] has risen one place to seventh.

South Africa's Jacques Kallis [Images] has moved up one place to joint second spot alongside Hayden. Makhaya Ntini [Images] (4th), Andre Nel [Images] (10th) and Shaun Pollock [Images] (12th) are South Africa's three players in the top 20 of the bowling list. Kallis remains top of the rankings for all-rounders, ahead of England's [Images] Andrew Flintoff [Images].

Skipper Rahul Dravid [Images] (5th) and Virender Sehwag [Images] (10th) are the two Indians in the top 10 batting list while Anil Kumble [Images] is the highest ranked Indian bowler at number 11.
