March 25, 2006 21:24 IST

India opening batsman Virender Sehwag [Images] faces a fitness test before the first one-day international against England [Images] on Tuesday, a Board of Control for Cricket in India official said on Saturday.

The attacking Delhi player suffered back spasms during the third and final Test in Mumbai, which England won by 212 runs on Wednesday to square the three-match series.

"He will be assessed in the nets tomorrow before we know whether he will be available for the game," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah told Reuters.
