The battle between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Cricket Association of Bengal took a new twist on Friday when the former decided not to allot any of the matches of the forthcoming ICC [Images] Champions Trophy to the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

After a meeting between the BCCI officals and the International Cricket Council representatives, the BCCI said the Cricket Association of Bengal were putting 'unreasonable conditions' for hosting the matches.

"CAB has lost the chance of hosting Champions Trophy because of putting unreasonable conditions," BCCI vice president Lalit Modi said in Mumbai on Friday night.

Modi further added that CAB's demand for specific matches was another factor for the non-allotment of matches.

"We wanted to distribute equitable number of matches to all the centres, but CAB wanted specific and later-stage matches, presumably semi-final and final, which was uncalled for," he added.

He also said that CAB did not want to host matches before October 23.

The BCCI refused to bow to the demands of the Cricket Association of Bengal and decided against giving them any matches for the forthcoming tournaments.
