Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly on Saturday lavished praise on leg-spinner Anil Kumble for joining the exclusive club of bowlers with 500 Test wickets.

"He truly deserves such a feat. This is a fantastic achievement," Ganguly told newspersons on the sidelines of a function in Kolkata.

Ganguly said Kumble seemed to be improving and becoming sharper with time.

"Getting 800 wickets (including the one-day internationals wickets) is indeed a commendable achievement. My best wishes to him."
