South Africa crush Australia March 04, 2006 01:40 IST Last Updated: March 04, 2006 02:07 IST Australia were bowled out for a record low 93 as South Africa beat them by 196 runs on Friday for a 2-0 lead in the one-day series. Makhaya Ntini took six wickets in the match, including an accurate new-ball burst in which he seized four for four runs in five overs. Ntini finished with figures of six for 22, the best by a South African in one-dayers.
Australia's total was their lowest against South Africa, beating the 125 they made in Melbourne in 1997/98. South Africa made 289 for seven against the world champions thanks to a quickfire unbeaten 51 from Justin Kemp and 66 from Herschelle Gibbs. Kemp, struck the ball cleanly to pick up four sixes, and reached his half century in 41 balls. He and Shaun Pollock added 62 off 50 deliveries for the sixth wicket after South Africa had reached 192 in the 39th over.
