Tendulkar flays schoolboys again

July 07, 2006 20:04 IST

Sachin Tendulkar's imperious run of form continued, with the Indian batting star slamming yet another hundred for Lashings World XI in a 35-over cricket match against Sutton Valence School.

Tendulkar hit 105, his fourth century in five innings since he joined the celebrity club last month, to guide Lashings to a comprehensive 70-run victory at Kent.

His India and Mumbai mate Ajit Agarkar also wielded the willow with aplomb, making 54 and helping Lashings to 254 for 6 in 35 overs.

Michael Coles (3/65) and Simon Higgins (2/47) took the wickets for Sutton.

Sutton's reply was shaped up by Ben Price, who scored 51 and Martin Taplin (27). But with Clare Connor accounting for five of the wickets for 24 runs and Sophie Simmonds picking 3 for 52, it was always beyond the schoolboys to put it across the star-studded rival line-up.
