Baroda crush Hyderabad January 12, 2006 20:39 IST Baroda beat Hyderabad by 220 runs in their last league match in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'B' league at the Motibaug ground in Vadodara on Thursday. A five-wicket haul by Yusuf Pathan and three wickets by Irfan Pathan (Sr), combined with fine knocks of 94 and 86 runs by Kiran Powar and Connor Williams respectively helped Baroda a thumping win. Hyderabad, who were set a target of 371 runs for victory, were all out for a paltry 150. Hyderabad captain Arjun Yadav (30), Shashank Nag (28), Ibrahim Khaleel (27) and Anoop Pai (11) put up some resistance against effective bowling by left-arm spinner Yusuf Pathan and medium pacer Irfan Pathan Senior, but the other batsmen collapsed like a deck of cards. Earlier, resuming at 150 for loss of 3 on day 3, Baroda were all out for 272. The fourth-wicket partnership of 162 runs by Williams and Powar, in 305 minutes, made it easy for Baroda to set a difficult target for Hyderabad. Powar missed a century by six runs and Williams by 14. For Hyderabad, spinner Prayag Ozha took 7 wickets for 126 runs. The other three wickets were taken by medium pacer Inder Shekhar Reddy.
