Uttar Pradesh crushed Hyderabad by 10 wickets in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'B' match to complete to register their first victory in the tournament at the K D Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow on Friday.

Uttar Pradesh, who scored 340 in their first innings to take a 198-run lead, chased the victory target of 30 in 9.4 overs, scoring 32 for no loss on the fourth and final day.

Resuming at the overnight score of four for no loss, first innings centurion Shivakant Shukla (20) and former skipper Jyoti Yadav (12) achieved the target easily.

The hosts get five points, including one bonus point, to raise their tally to nine.

Hyderabad, who are at nine points, were restricted to 142 and 227 in their two innings by leg-spinner Piyush Chawla who returned with a five-wicket haul in their second innings.

UP will now take Andhra Pradesh at Anantpur in their last league match.
