A 16-member England [Images] team, led by Michael Vaughan [Images], arrived at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai on Monday afternoon for a three-Test and seven ODI series.

The team arrived amidst tight security and was immediately whisked away from a side exit to the Taj Mahal [Images] hotel in south Mumbai. None of the players or coach spoke to the assembled media.

Vaughan will hold a press conference later in the evening at the hotel.

England are aiming to break the jinx of not having won a Test series in India since 1984-85, when the David Gower-led team defeated the hosts.

They begin their tour with a practice game against Mumbai from February 18 to 20, followed by a three-day warm-up match against the Board President's XI at Baroda from February 23 to 25.

The first Test will be played at Nagpur from March 1 to 5, followed by two Tests in Mohali and Mumbai.

The seven-match one-day series will begin in the last week of March.

The team: Michael Vaughan (captain), Ian Bell [Images], Paul Collingwood [Images], Andrew Flintoff [Images], Steve Harmison, Matthew Hoggard [Images], Geraint Jones, Simon Jones, Kevin Pietersen [Images], Liam Plunkett, Matt Prior [Images], Andrew Strauss [Images], Marcus Trescothick [Images], Shaun Udal, Monty Panesar [Images], Ian Blackwell. Coach: Duncan Fletcher.
