December 21, 2006
Cricket fans woke on Thursday to a shock.

Shane Warne [Images], the irrepressible, irreplaceble genius of the cricket field, had announced his retirement; once the ongoing Ashes tour ends, you will never seem him strut the international stage again.

Warne stands on a mountain of 699 Test wickets from 143 Tests; for the duration of his career, many have chased him, but no bowler, not even the equally incredible Muthaiah Muralitharan, has manged to equal his success, as wicket taker and crowd pleaser both.

What do you think of Warne -- the man, and the genius? What are your fondest memories, and what the worst? What do you think the impact of his going will be, on Australian and world cricket?

Tell us; join in celebrating the exit of one of the most charismatic players to have ever donnned the whites.
