Claiming that he has become a victim of conspiracy, Jagmohan Dalmiya vowed to challenge the life ban imposed on him by the Board of Control for Cricket in India in a court of law.

"You can call it witch hunt, you can call it conspiracy. I have become a victim of it," Dalmiya said on arrival in Kolkata from Jaipur [Images], on Saturday night, where the punitive action was taken against him at the BCCI's special general meeting earlier in the day.

"This (BCCI decision) will not go unchallenged. I will definitely challenge it," Dalmiya said, adding he would decide his next course of action after talking to his lawyers.

Asked whether he would now step down from the CAB president's post, Dalmiya said, "I will talk to my lawyers first, see what the rules say and then take a decision."
