Former champions Tamil Nadu are in sight of an outright victory as Andhra, after yielding a 319-run lead, were 79 for 1 in their second innings at close, on the penultimate day of their four-day Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' in Chennai on Sunday.

Resuming at 21 for 1, Andhra lost ASK Varma (1) in the fourth over of the day, adjudged leg before to Jesuraj.

Gnaneswarao was run-out to a direct throw from R Satish from point region for 16 (3 fours).

Captain Y Venugopal Rao failed to open his account. MSK Prasad played across to Satish and was plumb before the wicket for 20.

The sixth wicket pair of A G Pradeep (22) and RVCH Prasad (31) added 42 runs in 11.2 overs.

For Tamil Nadu, Jesuraj (3 for 35), Yomahesh (2/32) and S Vidyuth 2-105) were the main wicket- takers.

In Andhra's second essay, MSK Prasad and LNP Reddy defied the home attack for 29 overs before the former inside-edged spinner Vidyut to Badrinath at leg slip.
