Rolling camp set to begin

A set of five players -- Ajit Agarkar [Images], Yuvraj Singh [Images], Irfan Pathan [Images], Ramesh Powar [Images] and Mohammad Kaif -- would take the baton on Wednesday as the "rolling camp" ahead of next month's tri-nation series in Malaysia gets underway in Bangalore.

A brainchild of coach Greg Chappell [Images], the build-up "rolling" camp for the tournament, also featuring Australia and the West Indies [Images] and to be played between September 12 and 24, will see the five undergoing training for two days.

Thereafter, a fresh batch of cricketers -- Munaf Patel [Images], Mahendra Singh Dhoni [Images], Rudra Pratap Singh, Suresh Raina and S Sreesanth [Images] -- are scheduled to "roll" for three days from September 2, according to National Cricket Academy sources.

"The final bunch of players-- Rahul Dravid [Images], Virender Sehwag [Images], Sachin Tendulkar [Images], Harbhajan Singh [Images], Dinesh Mongia and V R V Singh -- will have sessions on September 5 and 6," sources at the NCA, the venue of the camp, said.

The selectors are slated to choose the squad for the tri-nation event at Mumbai on September 3.

The selected players are expected to play two practice matches on September 8 and 9 at Chennai before proceeding to Malaysia.
