The first one-day international between India and Sri Lanka [Images] will finally get underway at 1430 IST, after rain delayed the start of play at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground in Colombo on Friday.

The first innings (50 overs) will be played today, while the remainder of the match will take place on Saturday, the reserve day.

A three-match series has been scheduled after South Africa pulled out of a triangular series and returned home on Thursday because of security concerns.

The other games will be played on August 20 and 22, also at the Sinhalese Sports Club.
