The India Under-19 middle order fell like a deck of cards from a strong position and conceded a lead of 210 runs to their England counterparts on the third day of the four-day match in London.

At stumps on Thursday, England Under-19 were in the drivers' seat at 190 for two and looking to press for victory.

Skipper Varun Chopra, who scored a hundred in the first innings, blunted the Indian attack and was five runs short of another century. O Shea was batting at the other end on 24, at close of play.

Earlier, India, who were firmly placed at 230 for three on day two, were rolled on by leggie Adil Rashid, who claimed a staggering eight wickets to snatch the advantage from the visitors.

Rashid, who tormented the Indians with a century in the first innings, flourished with the ball as well to leave the Indian batting in tatters.

He claimed 6 off the nine Indian wickets that fell in the day while giving away 69 runs.

India lost wickets at regular intervals, with Virat Kohli (59) scoring the only half century of the day.

The tailenders -- Shahbaz Nadeem (22), V Yo Mahesh (35 no) and Abu Ahmed (22) added 64 runs to prevent humiliation.

Nadeem continued to impress and also took two England wickets for 77 runs.
