'BCCI decision unjust, unfair'

April 10, 2006 21:03 IST

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on Monday dubbed the suspension of its President Jagmohan Dalmiya by the BCCI as "unfair and unjust".

"The matter came up for hearing before the Mumbai high court at 3 pm today and Mr. Dalmiya was granted anticipatory bail by the Hon'ble Court. But BCCI acted in undue haste and announced the suspension of Mr Dalmiya even before going into the merit of the case," Saradindu Pal and Amitava Banerjee, CAB Honorary Joint Secretaries said in a statement.

They said CAB would stand firm behind its President, adding "we are seeking legal opinion in the matter and would convene an emergent Working Committee meeting soon to discuss the future course of action".
