India opener Gautam Gambhir [Images] will lead the Rest of India team against Ranji champions Railways in the season-opening Irani Trophy match, to be played in Delhi [Images] from October 1 to 5.

The team was picked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India's senior selection committee, which met in Bangalore on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Kiran More.
