Seam bowlers Dilhara Fernando and Farveez Maharoof snared three wickets each to lead Sri Lanka [Images] to a comfortable six-wicket win over Bangladesh and a 3-0 clean sweep of their limited-overs series.

Bangladesh was dismissed for just 108 in 38 overs after Sri Lanka's stand-in captain Mahela Jayawardene [Images] won the toss and sent the visitors in to bat first.

In reply, Sri Lanka reached their rain-revised target of 106 runs in 21 overs.

Left-hander Avishka Gunawardena and Upul Tharanga opened the innings for Sri Lanka which rested veteran Sanath Jayasuriya [Images], off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas [Images] for the match.

The pair combined for 24 runs before seam bowler Tapash Baisya penetrated Tharanga's defences and bowled him for nine runs.

Dilhara Lokuhettige scored only two runs before being caught at deep third-man by Syed Russel.

Gunawardena top scored for Sri Lanka with a 61-ball 52 -- his 12th limited-overs half-century. He hit six boundaries before mistiming a pull shot that was caught by Tushar Imran off the bowling of super substitute Khaled Mahmud.

Gunawardena and Thilan Samaraweera added 56 runs for the third wicket in 67 balls.

Baisya was Bangladesh's best bowler, taking two wickets for 27 runs.

The hosts won the first two matches by 75 and 88 runs respectively.

Earlier Bangladesh openers Javed Omar and Shahriar Nafeez combined for 47 runs by the ninth over before the visitors lost their momentum in the face of some good pace bowling.

Fernando trapped Omar lbw for 18 with a quick delivery and Mohammad Rafique scored only one run before being caught by Lokuhettige off Maharoof to leave the visitors two down for 51.

Bangladesh went on to suffer a middle-order collapse, losing the next five wickets for just three runs.

Soon Nafeez was caught by Upul Tharanga at mid-wicket off Maharoof. He faced 32 balls and hit three fours for his 21.

Fernando and Maharoof snared Aftab Ahmed (1), Mohammad Ashraful [Images] (0) and skipper Habibul Bashar (1) within the space of 10 balls to leave Bangladesh tottering at 54 for six wickets.

The last pair of Manjural Islam and Tapash Baisya added 25 runs before Islam departed as the last man for 17 off 51 balls.

Fernando finished with three wickets for 19 runs while Maharoof recorded figures 3-25.

Spinners Upul Chandana and Tillakaratne chipped in with two wickets each to polish off the tail.

The match started an hour late because of a wet outfield and an innings reduced to 48 overs. Later a half-hour rain interruption resulted in a revised target of 106 in 46 overs being set for Sri Lanka as per the Duckworth/Lewis method. Scorecard
