'Perth type' wicket at Mohali

October 27, 2005 16:59 IST

A "Perth type" wicket awaits the Indian and Sri Lankan teams as they go into the second match of the one-day international series at the PCA stadium in Mohali on Friday.

Curator Daljeet Singh said the redesigned pitch will offer good bounce, like the one in Perth, Australia.

"One can expect a good bounce, it is a typical Mohali wicket," he told reporters.

Since it is a day-night match, the dew factor will come into play in the latter part of the game and "make life difficult for the spinners", Singh said.

"If the team picks two spinners, then, ideally, they would like to win the toss and field first because the spinners may have difficulty gripping the ball in the later stages.

"But, overall, it is a good ODI wicket and we should expect a good game," he said.

The Indians go into this rubber with an edge over their opponents following their emphatic 152-run win in Nagpur which gave them a 1-0 lead in the seven-match series.
