Laxman to lead South Zone in Duleep Trophy

India's middle order batsman V V S Laxman [Images] will lead the South Zone team for the Duleep Trophy tournament against the West Zone to be played at Vadodara from October 20 to 23.

Team: VVS Laxman (captain), P Ojha, Anirudh Singh, Swapnil Asnodkar, Venugopal Rao, KS Sahabuddin, Hemang Badani, Sridharan Sriram, Ramkumar, Dinesh Karthik [Images] (wicket keeper), Robin Uthappa, Anil Kumble [Images], R Vinay Kumar, Sree Santh, Lakshmipathy Balaji

The South Zone selection committee meeting was chaired by V B Chandrashekar of Tamil Nadu. The other members are Vijay Mohan Roy (Hyderabad), P R Ashok Anandan (Karnataka), O K Ramdas (Kerala [Images]), Sharad Pednekar (Goa [Images]) and Chetan Dessai (Convenor), according to a press release.
