"Kaif would lead the India Seniors team while Ganguly's place in the squad would be taken up by Satyajit Parab (Baroda)," Board of Control for Cricket in India informed.

"Parab, who was originally in India B squad, would make way in the same team for Yousuf Pathan," they said.

Pathan is the elder brother of young India left-arm bowler Irfan and had played in the same event last year in Mumbai.

Ganguly was today ruled out from the tournament because of his elbow trouble which was diagnosed as "mild tennis elbow symptom," by BCCI-appointed sports medicine expert Dr Anant Joshi and Indian team physiotherapist John Gloster in Mumbai.

The duo examined Ganguly, after he came this morning from Kolkata, verified the MRI scan he had undergone on the advice of Dr Kalyan Mukherjee, a Kolkata orthopaedic surgeon, and have advised the southpaw ten-days' rest.

Ganguly is set to return to Mumbai for reassessment of his elbow problem.
