Jagmohan Dalmiya, leader of the ruling faction in the Board of Control for Cricket in India, expressed satisfaction with the voters' list for Tuesday's election, barring the authorisation given to Rajendra Zar as representative of Himachal Pradedsh Cricket Association.

"Yes, we are satisfied with the list. But, in the case of Himachal Pradesh [Images], one person has been given voting rights whom we have not seen attending any AGM before," Dalmiya told reporters in Kolkata on Monday.

Claiming that Zar is "unknown to the Board", the former BCCI chief said, "We will certainly take this matter to the Supreme Court if necessary."

BCCI election observer T S Krishnamurthy had earlier in the day cleared Zar, who belongs to the rival camp of Sharad Pawar [Images], as the authorised voter for the state association, dismissing the candidature of Anurag Thakur of the Dalmiya camp.

Otherwise, Dalmiya said he was happy with the overall arrangements and system of coming out with a voters' list a day before the election "which should be hailed as a healthy precedent".

Asked if the new system made the BCCI election process more transparent, he replied, "The Board has been running with this kind of system since 75 years. I don't know if anything was wrong with the system, but since we have come to it, let us make a new beginning."

On whether he is confident of victory, particularly after the observer cleared the voting right of the Jharkhand Cricket Association, he said, "The matter is not how confident I am or not, but how much it translates into votes tomorrow."

He reiterated that the opposition camp is "very weak in mathematics".

Dalmiya ruled out any possibility of delay in the election due to further legal wrangles, and said the whole thing is under the supervision of the Supreme Court, which appointed the observer, and no case would be entertained before the election.

Also, the observer has to go back to the court once the election process is over, he added.

He said both sides are happy with the kind of arrangements and procedures laid down by the observer.

Earlier, Amitabh [Images] Choudhary, secretary of Jharkhand Cricket Association, heaved a sigh of relief after being declared a valid voter, and described it as a "moral victory" for the Dalmiya camp.
