Ganguly named captain of Bengal November 18, 2005 11:55 IST Sourav Ganguly on Friday was named captain of the 14-member Bengal Ranji Trophy squad for the opening match against Maharashtra in Pune from November 23-26. The Bengal selectors chose former Indian wicket-keeper batsman Deep Dasgupta as vice-captain. In case Ganguly gets a call-up for the last two one-day internationals against South Africa, then Dasgupta will take over the captaincy.
