Dinesh Mongia scored a fluent 66 to give respectability to Leicestershire's first innings score against Worcestershire in a Frizzell County Championship Division two match on Thursday.

Riding on the Indian batsman's knock, which was the only half-century in the innings, the home side made 225 all out at Leicester. Mongia played an attacking innings and hit 13 fours during his 82-ball effort to take his team's score to 200 before the side suffered a slump, losing the last six wickets for a further 25 runs.

In a Division one match, Harbhajan Singh [Images] made a quickfire 25 for Surrey against Hampshire on a rain truncated day at Southampton. The Indian international, resuming the day at unbeaten six, made his runs off just 16 balls hitting four boundaries and a six as Surrey were bowled out for 361.
