India captain Sourav Ganguly [Images] finally got a chance to bat on day 3 of the four-day match between Glamorgan and Sussex. But after facing only three balls he was back in the pavilion without scoring.

Glamorgan were 289 for 7 in their first innings after 54 overs at stumps in reply to Sussex's 497 for 5 declared.

At Croydon, India's ace off-spinner Harbhajan Singh [Images], after failing to score in the first innings, hit up an unbeaten 15, inclusive of a six, off 12 balls as Surrey declared their second innings on 310 for 7 against Warwickshire.

Set a target of 442 in their second innings, Warwickshire were 18 for 1 off 6.2 overs.
