County cricket helping me: Ganguly

July 12, 2005 16:48 IST

India skipper Sourav Ganguly said he is enjoying his county stint in England and expressed confidence that the experience with Glamorgan would help him regain lost touch with the willow in upcoming international engagements.

"It's good to play county cricket. I'm enjoying it. Earlier also I enjoyed playing in the English county," Ganguly told reporters at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport in Kolkata on Tuesday.

"I have made quite a few runs for them (Glamorgan). It will help me in the international arena," he said.

Ganguly, who returned from England to spend some time with his family, will leave for Bangalore on Wednesday to attend a cricket skills camp.

After attending the camp for a couple of days he is scheduled to return to England to complete his county assignment.

Ganguly said he has no idea how Justice Albie Sachs, appointed by the International Cricket Council to resolve the dispute surrounding the six-ODI ban slapped on him, would go about the task.

"Neither the ICC nor the BCCI has given me any indication, so I have no idea," he said.

Ganguly refused to comment on the training procedures being followed by India's new coach, Greg Chappell, saying he is yet to work under him.

When reminded that he earlier had a short session with the Aussie to discuss some batting techniques, Ganguly replied, "As a player, he was excellent. I haven't met him since he took over as coach. I am looking forward to meeting him on tomorrow."
