England under-19 out for 147 January 27, 2005 22:43 IST The Indian colts dismissed England under-19 team for a paltry 147 and gained the upper hand in the first innings on the opening day of the second cricket 'Test' at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday. Electing to bat, the visitors were all out in 62.1 overs, thanks to a good show by the Indian bowlers. In reply, the Indians scored 119 for two. Faiz Fazal was unbeaten on 23 along with skipper Ambati Rayudu, on 21, at close of play. Earlier, opener Joseph Denly (56) stood firm amidst the ruins but failed to get any support from his teammates as the Indian bowlers repeated their performance of the Bangalore 'Test'. Leg spinner Piyush Chawla scalped four wickets for 37 runs while seamer Gourav Dhiman and offie Harvinder Singh picked three wickets each. The Indian boys had a good start before losing the wicket of Robin Uthapa (22) with 42 runs on the board. Shikhar Dhawan (41) was the other batsman out during the day.
